"My Safe Refuge” 20x20 Acrylic on Canvas in Dark Stained Wooden Floating Frame

This barn and windmill Texas ranch scene is all too familiar to me. This was my everyday place of growing up. Both the barn and the windmill symbolize a place of refuge for me. The windmill provided the water necessary for life and the barn represented a place to keep hay for food for the animals and a place of shelter during storms.

I used a palette knife to create this original piece of artwork. The colors are reminiscent of my childhood memories of our red barn with peeling paint.
